Rental terms & policies

Last updated: April 19, 2026

The rules of the road for renting foundation drilling tooling from AugerVault. These terms apply to every rental unless a signed master agreement supersedes them.

Rental periods & minimums

Rates are published in three tiers and the system automatically applies the tier that produces the lowest price for your rental duration:

TierDefinitionWhen it applies
Daily24-hour period from dispatchDurations under 7 days
Weekly7 consecutive daysDurations from 7 to 27 days
Monthly28 consecutive daysDurations of 28+ days

Minimum rental period is one (1) day. Partial days are billed as full days. Weekly and monthly rates are not prorated — the system will combine tiers to produce the lowest total (e.g. 10 days = 1 week + 3 days).

Rental clock starts when the tool leaves our yard (pickup) or our truck (delivery). Rental clock stops when the tool is physically received back at our yard or collected from your site by our driver.

Reservations & deposits

New accounts: a refundable security deposit is required at first rental, held against the replacement value of the tooling. Deposit is released within 5 business days of a clean return.

Repeat accounts in good standing: no deposit required. We consider an account "repeat" after two successful rentals with on-time returns and no damage charges.

Reservations hold inventory for 24 hours. After that, we release the tool back to general availability unless confirmed by quote acceptance or PO.

Pickup & delivery

Pickup (free)

Show your QR code at any of our three partner yards during business hours. Tooling will be racked and ready. Bring your own rigging / transport — we do not load onto trucks smaller than a 1-ton flatbed without prior arrangement.

Delivery (flat rate, round-trip)

  • Miami-Dade County: $175
  • Broward County: $225
  • Palm Beach County: $295

Delivery includes transport to your staging area and retrieval at rental end. Same-day delivery available for orders placed before 10:00 AM; next-day otherwise. Delivery fees are non-refundable once the truck dispatches.

Jobsite access: you are responsible for providing safe vehicle access, a staging area, and any required site escort. If our driver cannot safely access the drop location, a second delivery attempt is billed at 100% of the original delivery fee.

Tool condition at dispatch

Every tool is inspected, re-toothed, and pressure-washed between rentals at a partner welding shop. At dispatch, you will receive a condition report photographing:

  • Flight geometry and welds
  • Kelly box / coupler condition
  • Tooth count and wear stage (new / good / fair)
  • Overall straightness and balance

You have 2 hours from receipt to dispute the condition report. Disputes submitted after that window are considered waived and return damage will be assessed against the dispatch baseline.

Teeth & consumables

Carbide and flat-cut teeth are consumable wear parts. Normal tooth wear during rental is expected and not charged back. You are responsible for:

  • Broken or missing teeth: replaced at the per-tooth retail price. Carbide conical teeth: $65 each. Flat-cut teeth: $22 each. CFA cutting tips: $60 each. Bullet teeth: $17 each.
  • Holder / block damage: replaced at cost plus a $75 installation charge.
Teeth and block stock is maintained at every partner yard. You can buy replacements on pickup and swap mid-job without returning the auger — avoids downtime on Miami limestone jobs where carbide consumption is high.

Operating responsibilities

Renter agrees to operate tooling within manufacturer specifications and industry standards, including:

  • Matching kelly box / coupler specifications to the tooling before installation
  • Not exceeding rated torque on any auger, barrel, or adapter
  • Not using rock augers on materials harder than medium-hard limestone without prior written approval
  • Not welding, grinding, or modifying any AugerVault tooling for any reason
  • Not sub-renting, loaning, or transferring tooling to any third party

Violation of any operating responsibility voids the damage waiver and makes renter liable for full replacement cost.

Damage & loss

Damage beyond reasonable wear is billed at cost of repair or, if beyond repair, full replacement value. Common damage scenarios and typical charges:

ConditionCharge
Bent flight (straightenable)$450–900
Cracked weld requiring re-welding$250–500
Damaged kelly box / coupler$650–1,400
Non-recoverable structural damageReplacement value
Tool lost, stolen, or not returnedReplacement value

Replacement values are disclosed on the dispatch report and range from $3,500 (cleanout buckets) to $28,000 (36" rock augers). Renter's insurance is the primary payer for damage and loss (see §10).

An optional damage waiver at 12% of rental total caps liability at $500 per incident, excluding gross negligence, misuse, theft, and lost tools. Waiver must be elected at booking; cannot be added retroactively.

Returns & late fees

Return tooling to any of our three partner yards during business hours by the end of your rental period. You do not need to return to the same yard you picked up from.

Late fees:

  • Returns up to 4 hours past end date: no charge (grace window)
  • Returns 4–24 hours late: one additional full daily rate
  • Returns more than 24 hours late without notice: 150% of daily rate per day plus a $125 administrative fee

If you need to extend, call us before the end of your rental period. Extensions are almost always approved if stock allows and billed at the continuing tier rate.

Cleaning, fuel & grease

Tools do not need to be returned pressure-washed — our partner shops handle re-tooth and wash between rentals. However, tools returned with cementitious material (grout, concrete, CLSM) caked on flights incur a $150 hardened-material cleaning charge per tool. Rinse them before the grout sets.

CFA augers: if you use the grout port during your rental, flush the center tube with water immediately after last use. A blocked center tube is billed at $450 to clear.

Greasing of kelly pins, couplers, and rotating joints is the renter's responsibility during the rental.

Insurance requirements

Renter shall maintain, at minimum, the following coverages for the duration of the rental and name AugerVault LLC as additional insured:

  • Commercial General Liability: $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate
  • Inland Marine / Equipment Floater: coverage equal to or greater than the replacement value of rented tooling
  • Workers' Compensation: as required by Florida statute

A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is required before first dispatch. COIs can be emailed to rent@augervault.com.

Payment terms

New accounts: payment at dispatch via ACH, credit card (3% processing surcharge), or wire.

Established accounts (3+ completed rentals in good standing): Net-30 terms available upon credit approval. Submit a credit application with three trade references and an AP contact.

Past-due balances accrue interest at 1.5% per month. Accounts over 45 days past-due are suspended pending resolution.

Liability & indemnification

AugerVault's maximum liability arising from any rental is limited to the rental fees paid for the affected tooling. AugerVault is not liable for consequential damages, lost profits, project delays, or third-party claims arising from the use of rented tooling.

Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless AugerVault LLC, its employees, and its partner yards from any claims arising from renter's use, operation, or transport of rented tooling, except where caused by AugerVault's gross negligence.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Venue for any dispute is Miami-Dade County, Florida.

These terms may be updated from time to time; the version in effect at the time of your rental governs that transaction. Questions: rent@augervault.com.
