Reservations & the Doral yard
Can I rent now?
Yes — reservations are open while the Doral yard launches. Book online or call, and we'll confirm availability within one business hour (Mon–Sat). If a size isn't available on your dates, we'll tell you straight away and offer the closest fit.
Where is the yard?
In Doral, Miami-Dade County. The exact address and gate instructions come with your confirmation. Hours: Mon–Fri 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Sat 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
How does QR pickup work?
When you reserve online you get a reservation ID and QR code. Once we confirm, show it at the yard gate; your tooling is racked and ready, and we load it onto your truck.
Do I have to pick up on my start date?
No. The rental clock starts when the tool leaves the yard, so if the job slips, just pick up later.
Pickup & returns
Do you deliver?
No. All tooling is picked up and returned at our Doral yard, which keeps our rates low. We load it onto your truck with a forklift.
What do I need to haul it?
We load with a forklift. Pole-line tools and skid-steer gear fit a 1-ton pickup or trailer; drilled-shaft tools, buckets and large casing twisters (up to ~3,200 lb) need a flatbed or equipment trailer.
Can I extend if the job runs long?
Call before your end date and we'll extend at the best continuing tier. Late returns without a call: one extra daily rate for 4–24 hours late, then 150% of the daily rate per day plus a $125 admin fee. There's a 4-hour grace window.
Rates & billing
How are rates calculated?
Every tool has a day, week (7 days) and month (28 days) rate. Book any length and we apply the lowest combination — for example 10 days is 1 week + 3 days, unless 2 weeks is cheaper.
Is there a deposit?
Yes: 25% of the tool's replacement value, minimum $500. For rentals up to 7 days it's a hold on your card, released when the tool comes back clean. For longer rentals it's charged by ACH or card and refunded within 5 business days of a clean return. Approved net-30 accounts pay no deposit.
Do you offer net-30?
Yes, for approved accounts. Submit the credit application with three trade references and an AP contact; most complete applications are approved within 48 hours.
What payment methods do you take?
ACH (preferred), wire, credit card (3% processing fee) and net-30 for approved accounts.
What's your cancellation policy?
More than 48 hours before start: full refund. 24–48 hours: 50% of the first day's rate retained. Under 24 hours or no-show: one daily rate retained.
Tooling & fit
Will your tools fit my rig?
Tooling comes on three connections: 4" square (digger derricks and pressure diggers), 130 mm / 5-1/8" and 200 mm / 8" kelly boxes (drilled-shaft rigs). Adapters bridge them: 200 → 130 mm, 130 mm → 4" square, and 4" → 3"/3.5" square. Send a photo of your kelly bar end and we'll confirm.
Which tool do I need for Miami limestone?
Dirt auger through the sand and fill, casing twister once you're below the water table, rock auger into the limestone, and a core barrel for hard ledge or clean rock sockets. A cleanout bucket finishes the bottom.
What sizes do you have?
Rock augers 18"–48", core barrels 24"–48", skid-steer and excavator rock bits 12"–36", casing twisters 18"–48". Larger sizes (54"–60" for FDOT mast arms) can be sourced — call us.
What do I need for the skid-steer rock auger?
A skid steer with high-flow auxiliary hydraulics and a universal quick-attach plate. The excavator drive fits 18–30 ton machines and comes with its bracket and pins.
Do you rent CFA augers?
We build CFA lead sections and bottom flights to order, matched to your rig's connection, and our partner shop re-flights and hardfaces existing flights. See the CFA page for details.
Wear, damage & insurance
What if a tooth breaks mid-shift?
Swap it — teeth and holders are sold per piece at the yard: premium 38 mm conical $90, 25 mm bullet $19, skid-steer/excavator rock teeth $17, flat-cut $10, holders $26.
What happens when a tool comes back?
The shop inspects it on return. Teeth, holders and tips that need replacing are billed at the per-piece prices. Repairs such as bent flights, cracked welds or a damaged kelly box are billed at repair cost, and lost or stolen tools at replacement value. Details are in the rental terms.
Do I need to wash the tool?
No, the shop washes tools between rentals. But tools returned with hardened grout or concrete on the flights carry a $150 cleaning charge — rinse before it sets.
Is there a damage waiver?
Optional, 15% of the rental total. It caps your liability at $500 per incident, excluding misuse, gross negligence, theft and loss. Choose it when you book.
Do you need a certificate of insurance?
Yes, before the first dispatch: general liability $1M/$2M, inland marine covering the tool's replacement value, and workers' comp per Florida law, with AugerVault LLC as additional insured. Email it to rent@augervault.com.
